Media/film artist commission opportunity – Mid Pennine Arts

The Remade Steering group and Mid Pennine Arts would now like to commission a media/film artist to work on an inter generational, creative project working with local secondary schools and the local community to establish a sense of connection / identity and positive future vision of the site

16mm film – coming soon to Lumen

ph_st1901 Lumen are acquiring a Steenbeck 16mm editing and viewing table. Our thanks to Dr Ian MacDonald for his kind donation.

We would like artists and filmmakers who are working with 16mm to come and use this professional piece of kit. It should be ready to use in mid-March. If anyone has experience of maintaining 16mm equipment then we are looking for a volunteer to help us ensure this equipment is in full working order – please get in touch 0113 246 9850

Sound/sonic submissions

Lumen are working with South Leeds Community Radio (SLCR) in programming sound/sonic art onto the radio. If you are interested in having your work aired then please send on a DVD your work to Lumen, stating in writing that you are happy for the work to be aired by SLCR to their audiences for no fee

Lumen continue to support artists in developing experimental media work

Join us for a fascinating insight into international artist Janet Cardiff’s The Forty Part Motet with a panel of specialist speakers from the worlds of art and music, chaired by Charlotte Higgins (The Guardian). The panel will come together to discuss the piece, Janet Cardiff’s wider body of work, and the broader relationship between contemporary art and classical music.

With Nicholas Kok (conductor), Theresa Bergne (Director, Field Art Projects and the original producer of The Forty Part Motet), and Fiona Bradley (Director, Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh). Chaired by Charlotte Higgins, chief arts writer, The Guardian
